excessivetabs

Tabs, Tabs Everywhere

Gnome has far too many apps that utilise tabs!

Worst. Widget. Ever.

You don't like tabs? I agree I don't like them on many applications (Gaim as a prime example), but I almost rely on the ease of use that tabs give me when I'm browsing.

I dislike the proliferation of tabs rather then the actual widget itself; in some cases it does work. The big problem I see with tabs is that people use them to try and work around an age old problem that I still don't think has been solved: window management.

I think the point I was trying to bring accross was their inconsistent implementation in trying to work around a problem that really should be solved by another means (see Expose as a damn good breakthrough).

It niggles me, however petty it may seem :-p

Exposé rawks my world. I miss it when I'm working on Windows -- I throw my mouse up to the top left corner, and feel sad when my windows don't all zip out of the way.

All the Windows clones pretty much suck too.
