About delete.me.uk, the Web site and it's author, Paul Sowden.
delete.me.uk is the current home of Paul Sowden. A place for nothing in particular. A playground of sorts, somewhere to put things I do, a little piece of this Sowden on the Web.
Things I put here will probably reflect my (online) interests, including Web technologies (standards) and my various programming adventures. Unfortunately I don't have a pet, but if I did, rest assured, pictures will appear prominently on the front page.
Some people tell of the tools they use to build and host their Web sites, which may or may not be entirely useless pieces of information. However, I sometimes find myself wondering what exactly is behind some of the sites I frequent, so here is what makes mine possible.
The underlying HTML is, for the most part, hand authored using an appropriate text editor, usually BBEdit, for lack of a better solution which fulfils my addiction to control. Hand authoring is not ideal, but it seems to work at the moment. I usually take the effort to pass what I write through an SGML parser for sanity.
The "blog" is generated using Movable Type, but this is only a temporary solution, which seems to be becoming more permanent every day.
Past that, the whole thing is hosted at Gradwell dot com by an Apache Web server running atop FreeBSD, which suits me fine.
Here is where I'm meant to talk about myself. After all, this is the home page belonging to me. Well, I'm not going to explicitly say anything, if you want to know about me you'll have to find out some other way.
